impressive product. You really have to know how to apply this in order to make it work. So if you have never done this before, it is really simple: Wet a fine cloth or sponge (a small, soft sea sponge, not wedge sponge) then rub the wet cloth or sponge onto the makeup. Rub around in circles to get enough on the sponge, then begin to wipe and pat on face and neck. Cover your mouth, hairline, and eyebrows. Wait about 5 minutes, or until it is dry, then take fine (dry) cloth and gently wipe your face, paying special attention to your jaw bones, sides of nose, eyebrows (may have to go in a back and forth motion for the hairline and eyebrows). Then you can add powder and blush on top. This is foundation an should be put on clean, towel dried skin to work the best. – You can choose to use a lot or just a little. You will have to vary the wetness of the sponge in order to do this.I was a huge fan of Pancake makeup before it was shockingly discontinued by Max Factor. That is the only foundation I wore from age 12 until about 30. I am SO glad I found this!!! This item (StarBlend) works just as well, if not better than Max Factor Pancake! I would definitely purchase it if you want something to replace the Pancake you has always loved. Now you can have StarBlend and it really is impressive :)With Pancake, I wore Natural No. 1, with the StarBlend, I wear Ivory Bisque and it matches my skin tone completely, including my neck.

I used primer to make sure that this makeup would stay on but I just loved how true the color was even on my brown skin. I even put it on my husband who is white and the colors were basically the same. Except I didn’t get to put primer on him and so it didn’t stay on him throughout the night. So definitely prime!

I finally found a pancake makeup to replace Max Factor’s Natural No. 1, which I used since I was a teenager (and that was a very long time ago). When it stopped being made/sold, I looked online for similar products. I tried several other brands and no matter what color I tried, it did not look natural. I looked either dead white or sickly yellow or bright pink. I wasted a lot of money before I finally discovered this brand and this particular color. It actually works better than the old Max Factor pancake in that it has more covering power and it doesn’t “melt” in the heat and humidity we have down here in the deep South. I use it every day for work and any time I’m going out in public. I have people tell me they can’t get over my complexion, and I can’t take credit for it–I tell them that I use a really, really nice makeup. Some have asked the name of it, which of course I give. I think a few have gone on to try it for themselves. All I know is, I won’t leave home without it (I have a lot of acne scars, etc.) and I’m so thankful I found it! It’s the perfect makeup for concealing facial imperfections, without looking heavy or made-up, and it doesn’t need to be touched up or renewed even in the hottest summer months. And it’s a believable, natural looking color, which is essential.

First of all, this little thing will last for decades.I was Gamora for Halloween, and I purchased the costume- which means I only needed to “paint” my head, neck, and hands. I could probably still sell the thing as brand new, that’s how little it used, and I had it pretty dark. Probably did 3 “layers”.The one thing I wanted to note is that it did not wash off as easily as others said. It came off my hands and rubbed off on people a little throughout the night, but it actually didn’t wash off super easily. It was easy enough that I would do it again, but it definitely confirmed for me NOT to use it on children- cuz scrubbing is uncomfortable or even abrasive sometimes.I forgot to “set” it with either the spray or baby powder that people talked about- so I don’t know if that would have kept it from rubbing off on my son, for instance, when I gave him a hug and he had a smear on his forehead.What I LOVED was that it didn’t feel like “halloween” makeup that I grew up with. My skin felt like skin. It was never uncomfortable, irritating, hardening, crackling, nothing like that. Very pleasant and natural feeling.Little kids will stare, be prepared. No one knows what to think of green skin!Definitely used a Norwex body cloth to get it out of my ears, it was perfect! Highly recommend!

This stuff works impressive! I needed it to be Gamora as part of our Ragnar relay trail running team Ragnardians of the Galaxy. I wanted to be able to run the whole 48 hours in full costume so I needed something easy to apply that STAYS ON and still looks nice after many hours, that is also breathable enough to not make my face crusty 😂 this little compact was beyond perfect!!!! I applied it with a magic eraser (which is all I had, would use a beauty blender sponge next time) and a little water. Obviously I wasn’t going for a professional look and only took 15 minutes to get ready, but I am sure if you were more careful with applying it you’d get professional looking results. It went on smoothly, it’s easy to blend and you can layer multiple times to get the coverage you want. It held up over 48 hours as I ran 16 miles, got rained on, slept in a sleeping bag, and sweated a LOT. Once it dried, it didn’t rub off on my clothes or random things I touched. I put it on my entire face, neck, upper body, belly, arms, and lower legs, and did a few touch ups throughout the weekend, and the compact is still full so I know I could be Gamora many more times before this runs out lol. The cleanup was simple, just soap and water and I got everything back off in one shower. I highly recommend this brand to anyone who needs long-lasting, comfortable body paint at a nice price. I should add that I hardly EVER bother to leave a review on Amazon, so the fact that I’m leaving this hopefully shows you how impressed I am!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

The best product ever!! I used it for my Elphaba costume for Halloween this year. You can use it wet or dry, but I found using it by wetting my foundation brush first worked much, much better. You just need to wait about a minute or 2 between coats to make sure your bottom layer dries first before building on top of it. This will prevent streaking. For my entire face, neck, ears and both hands up to the wrists… it took me only about 30 minutes to apply and become Elphaba, not the 2 hours I had planned for. Wonderful product, and would definitely repurchase. Highly recommend!

This worked well. I needed to apply several layers, blending and blending and blending to achieve the smooth look I wanted, but it worked.I wet a cosmetic sponge, squeezed out excess, then dipped it into the cake makeup, and then applied.Best of all, it washed RIGHT OFF with soap and water. I bought the GREEN color for my Medusa/Poison Ivy/Whatever Halloween costume.I didn’t give 5 stars because I would have preferred fuller coverage without putting layers and layers. Also, my green makeup became very blotchy looking several hours later.

I use this to mix with another Mehron Makeup StarBlend Cake Makeup color Soft Beige/TV4, which was a little to dark for me, using a wet sponge to apply, first run your sponge over soft Beige then over the fair and apply by patting all over your face,jaw and neck, when it is dry you can run the sponge over to smooth out and blend. I am happy with the result and glad I found Mehron cake Makeup after using Max Factor cake Makeup for many years

Amazon’s images of this foundation show the colors most accurately, even moreso than on the Mahron site. Since there are nearly no reviews anywhere of this makeup’s super-light pinky shades, I had to really stare at the various colors on my screen, narrowing the choices down to 2 or 3 and then clicking back and forth among them to see the differences. I finally decided on the extra fair, but it was a little too light. I then ordered the pinky I had determined was the next darker shade, light beige blush. It has a very, very strong pink undertone. I looked like a carnation. But if I combine the two colors, the result is perfect. Using a thick foundation brush that I’ve squeezed the excess water out of, I swipe it back and forth a few times in one color and then the other and then paint my face. The coverage is fantastic, yet you can barely tell I’m wearing foundation. Despite what some reviewers say, this foundation is very easy to work with. Just don’t use a dripping wet brush or sponge. Also, after you’ve run your damp brush or sponge over the product, it might not look as if anything has rubbed off onto your applicator, but it has–just touch your tool to your face, and you will see the foundation going onto your skin perfectly.

This was very nice!! I just wish I had a purple to further compliment my costume.I used it as my white base for my Ursula costume this year.The application process I find is simple; get $1 sponges from the makeup aisle at Walmart, wet the sponge, wipe the palette, apply to skin. Then obviously apply to your desired coverage.I loved the feel of it. I wasn’t afraid to touch my skin as I would be if I used an oil based cream type makeup.This dries almost instantly and stays well!The photos are of two different nights out.The photo with the crown is a much more refined makeup job.
