This is a pretty accurate-looking I Love Lucy costume. The material is kind of cheap polyester and a bit thin, but I wore a slip and camisole underneath and it was fine. For the price, I was not expecting a movie-quality outfit, it’s definitely typical Halloween quality. Length was nice, I’m 5’8″ and it hit at about mid-calf. The dress itself has a bit of stretch to it, so should be able to accommodate various body types, and once the apron is tied, it has a more form fitting silhouette.My biggest complaint was with the apron – it was sewn upside down! As in, the ‘I Love Lucy’ logo was at the bottom of the apron and the heart was upside down. I returned the costume and ordered another one, thinking it was just a one-off, but when the second costume arrived it had the exact same problem! Really poor quality control on the part of the manufacturer. But it’s made in China, so quality isn’t going to be great to begin with. I had just expected better since it’s an officially licensed product.I wore it anyway with the apron logo upside down, as it would have been difficult to alter and the material would likely snag in a sewing machine, but no one really noticed. I dressed it up with some higher quality accessories – cardigan, pearls, heels, etc., and it looked fine. I also ordered the wig to go with it – and beware – if you order the corresponding wig from Amazon, that wig is SUPER small. Like child-size small. I couldn’t get it to fit, and I have an average sized head. Better to get some colored hairspray or spring for a higher quality hairpiece.The costume got a ton of laughs and compliments at both the Halloween party we attended and at my office later that week, and a bunch of people stopped me at grocery store to comment, so I guess it was a pretty nice likeness. Overall, I’d say it was a positive purchase, it arrived quickly and the seller was easy to work with on the return. I’d probably wear this costume again, just wish the quality had been a little better, given that it’s a licensed product.
